Be Creative. Earn Money.
Are you artistic or creative? Are you are a photographer interested in earning extra income? If you're looking to do what you love and be compensated, we need your help.
Custom Built Calendars has introduced a line of executive quality gift calendars. Each one is customizable with our client's logo and contact information, and distinguished by its design, images, unique paper selection and finishing touches. As we grow this exclusive line, some calendars will be standouts as much for their educational content as their design. Others will utilize elements such as images, layout, color, fonts, shape and size to create a work of art.
If you have photos or a concept that would make a great calendar, we want to hear from you.
Selected submissions will be added to our online gift calendar catalog and you can start earning royalty income. A royalty of 5% is paid for images and/or a concept. Fees are paid out in full at the end of each year, on or before February 28th. Click here to view a copy of our Royalty Agreement.

Do the images have to be photographs?
No. We'll gladly consider any images you think might be interesting.
What type of images are you looking for?
Each series should be related in some way. All series must be oriented either horizontally (landscape) or vertically (portrait), and not a combination of the two in the same series. As for the subject, it can be anything that you think might make an interesting calendar. Our primary target market is corporations, so environmental, geographic and artistic images are always popular (but don't forget we're also looking for the "less common" images to offer our clients).
How many pictures are required for an image series?
Unless your concept requires more photos, we're generally looking for 12 or 13 images in a series/submission.
Will my photos be credited to me?
Yes. Each calendar will have a "Meet the Photographer" section containing a short (50 word) introduction and your website address (if desired).
Will different photographers be featured in the same calendar?
Generally, no. Our intention is that each calendar will feature a series of images from one photographer only.
Are all photos and concepts that are submitted put on your website for clients to use?
No. Although we gratefully accept all submissions, not all submissions are posted. Posted selections are made on the basis of artistic quality, other submissions and suitableness for a calendar.
What is your usage guarantee?
Photos are to be used on customized promotional calendars ordered through www.custombuiltcalendars.com. Click here to view our standard License Agreement.
How long does the selection process take and how will I know if my image/concept is selected?
We respond with a decision to all submissions. A decision on concepts uploaded from January to March will be made by the end of May. You can expect a response to submissions made from April to June within six weeks. Submissions made after June 30th will be held and considered for the following year.
What steps do you take to ensure my concept and images don't show up all over the internet without me getting paid?
To safeguard your information and images, we follow industry best practices. To date, we have been completely successful in this regard. However, as our lawyers say, it is impossible to guarantee the security of any data storage system against breach or theft.
Do you require that any ideas or photos I submit be exclusive to you?
Yes. We ask that you do not license the specific images you license to us to other online calendar companies.
What image resolution do you require and what is the submission process?
All images need to be at least 8.0 mega pixels, ideally 10.0 mega pixels or more. We have a 2-step submission process:
- Step 1: Initial image submissions should be low resolution jpg or tif images. Submit all 13 images as separate files and include any descriptive text you'd like us to have. Our online submission wizard can accept files up to 20MB.
- Step 2: Once your submission has been accepted for inclusion on our website, you'll be asked to upload the high resolution images.
