Why order from Custom Built Calendars?
Perhaps the easiest way to answer this is say that our main business is not photography, shipping, retail merchandising or printing. Custom calendars are our only business and it's a business we have chosen to be experts in. We cater to business, commercial, institutional and not-for-profit clients, not the retail trade.
When we say we've chosen to be the experts in custom calendars, here is what we mean:
- The calendar designs we offer currently are the best on the web and through our designer submission program, exciting new designs are added regularly.
- Our prices are lower than virtually everyone else. This is because of volume and our ability to print several calendars together for greater efficiencies, not by using lower quality materials or older technology. In fact, the printing technologies we use are the latest available to ensure we provide clients with extraordinary print quality.
- We don't use any low grade papers that are off-white and brittle. Our standard grade is "Premium" and we give clients the opportunity to upgrade to high end art quality paper containing 50% recycled content.
- We look at your calendar before it goes to print to see if we can spot any problems. Why wouldn't we - we've got a lot more experience finding problems than you do and at the end of the day, we want you to be thrilled with your calendars. So we do our best but we don't guarantee we'll find mistakes if there are any. Please read our actual guarantee carefully.
- Avoid fuzzy photos - our cutting-edge software will analyze your pictures to ensure they will print crisply. If you feel any photos are too dark or poorly contrasted, have them digitally enhanced by one of our photo experts (small fee applies).
- For orders of 750 or less you can order a single calendar that is identical in every way to what you will receive when you place your order. By taking advantage of this option (cost is $40) you have a final opportunity to proof read the calendar and make sure there are no errors (if there are, you can easily fix them up prior to confirming the rest of your order).
- Our holiday dates are triple-checked.
- We offer automatic spell-checking on all calendars.
- Delivery is included in the continental United States or Canada on orders of 50 calendars or more.
What is the difference between a "custom calendar" and a "promotional calendar"?
The terms 'custom calendar' and 'promotional calendar' are sometimes used interchangeably, however they are quite different.
A promotional calendar is one where large quantities of calendars are printed in advance and then 'customized' by adding a name and address to a flap that extends down at the bottom. The benefit of this type of calendar is its low cost; however they tend to be of lower quality and there isn't any way to provide meaningful information about your organization.
A custom calendar is just that - custom. Printed on premium bright white paper, it provides an attractive and lasting impact by featuring images and text that promote the best attributes of your organization. A custom calendar also gives you the ability to highlight special dates such as deadlines or trade shows, and it presents your logo and contact information attractively. Environmentally-friendly paper and enhanced binding are just some of the available options.

What types of calendars can I order?
All types, including wall calendars, desk calendars, posters and purse/pocket calendars.
How much do Custom Built Calendars cost?
Our prices are extremely competitive (they have to be - a big part of our business is supplying municipal governments, who shop around aggressively). The cost depends upon the style, the quantity and the degree of customization. Click here for an instant custom calendar quote or feel free to contact us by phone or email.
Our minimum order is 25 calendars. We offer free shipping in the continental US and Canada on orders of 50 or more.
What if we want something special, such as environmentally-friendly paper, die cutting, spiral binding, etc?
All these options and more are available.
Am I able to select what holidays are shown and add text to specific dates throughout the calendar?
Yes. We provide a suggested list of holidays (for both the United States and Canada) and a further list of additional holidays and observances. You choose what you want to include. In addition, you can insert text of your choosing on other dates (e.g. deadlines, trade shows, etc.). Note that some calendar designs may not accommodate very much additional text.
What do you provide and what am I expected to provide?
If you have the photos you would like to use for your calendar, consider building the calendar yourself using our easy-assembly online tool and one of our professionally-created design templates. If a more unique or specialized design is desired or if you need us to provide photos and/or text, one of our designers is up to the job. Simply complete the online quote request form so we can provide you with a quotation.
How long should it take to receive an order?
Expect sample orders within 2 weeks. Regular orders are delivered in 4 weeks. If you would like to receive your order more quickly, please let us know at the time of ordering.
To check on the status of your order, log on to your account and check the "Orders" area.
Shipping and handling charges for the continental United States and Canada are included. Additional charges for faster methods of shipping will apply. Shipping costs to destinations outside of the continental US or Canada will be calculated on a case by case basis.
Will you mail calendars directly to the people on my mailing list or coordinate distribution via some other method?
Of course. Simply provide us with the details and we'll be happy to provide a quotation.
What happens if there is a problem with my calendars?
We have stringent quality control practices in place and fully guarantee the quality of our products. Please contact us within 30 days and we will replace any calendars that are defective (missing, torn, or loose pages, etc.).
Most problems that occur are proofing issues and not printing defects. Our warranty does not cover proofing issues. For this reason we encourage you to triple check all information in your calendar, and if possible, have it checked by others as well. If your order is for 750 calendars or less, we strongly advise you to order a sample calendar first so you can check it carefully prior to confirming your full order. The cost of a sample calendar is $40, which includes delivery.
For more information, please see our complete guarantee.
Our standard payment process is by credit card (Visa, MasterCard or American Express). The charge is generally processed on the day of shipment.
If you prefer, we also accept payment by cheque. Cheques must be received prior to shipment. Click here for our mailing address.
